The museum is revamping its popular exhibition, the Amish of Lancaster County, to include more attention to the boom in Amish cottage industries and an emphasis on the fundamental tenets of Amish culture. Also, the working 1920s Print Shop on the 3rd floor of the museum, is operated by volunteer printers on a regular basis.
This exciting exhibition will focus on the history and influence of the wool yarn produced in the Germantown section of Philadelphia upon Navajo weavings. Featuring more than 40 weavings, the exhibition will chronicle how these brilliantly colored, tightly bound Germantown yarns were introduced by traders to Navajo weavers.
Natural art sculptures featuring a beehive, flower, butterfly and a NEW hummingbird installed throughout the Gardens. The sculptures are created using various combinations of trees, saplings, branches and forest materials.
