Located on Penn Square, in the heart of historic downtown Lancaster, and housed in two buildings dating from the 1790s, the Heritage Center Museum engages people in Lancaster's yesterdays through its annual exhibitions and educational programs.

Explore regional history through selections from our collection which features beautiful paintings, centuries-old hand-made furniture and wonderful examples of local decorative arts. Find answers to your questions about Amish culture with a tour of Amish Choices, an exhibit designed to help you to understand the complexities of our "plain" neighbors with the help of Amish-made decorations, furniture and toys. Visit our working 1920s Print Shop to find out about printing in the era before computers. Stop in on a market day (Tuesday, Friday or Saturday) to meet volunteers from the .918 Club who will help you to print your own souvenir. The best part? Admission to the Heritage Center Museum is FREE! Visit our website for current operating hours. Handicap accessible.
